BACKGROUND
Moscow Metro is one of the world’s busiest metro systems, with 12 lines and 172 stations. Moscow’s population is just under 9 million, and every day the metro system carries more than 8 million passengers.
CHALLENGE The company wanted to speed up journey times, cut down on ticket fraud and increase reliability.
SOLUTION
- Working with Comvision Russland and JSC Mikron, UPM RFID developed a solution using HF RFID inlays based on the Mifare Ultralight standard.
- Every month, passengers consume millions of tickets equipped with RFID inlays.
