Efficient logistics for increasing volumes


Artilux NMF has improved its internal logistics chain by adopting RFID technology.

BACKGROUND
Artilux NMF produces over six million luminaries resulting in shipments of approximately 25,000 pallets each year. The principal share of production is exported to international customers.

CHALLENGE Challenges in warehouse operations have been a limitation and drawback due to increased production volumes and peak-season volatility.

SOLUTION

  • UPM ShortDipole RFID tags are embedded on each pallet at the production quality control point.
  • RFID readers at each by-pass gate automatically identify the pallets, and the system determines if the pallet can proceed. Control information is then sent to the warehouse operator.
SUCCESS Artilux NMF utilised RFID technology to overcome internal logistics chain and warehouse operations difficulties. All pallets include RFID tags from UPM RFID and are tracked and traced throughout the logistic process phase.
